Ground Improvement

Ground Improvement

Ground improvement is carried out for various objectives, primarily to improve the bearing capacity and reduce settlement of soft ground, prevent earthquake liquefaction, control groundwater, stabilize excavation bottom, prevent deformation of the surrounding ground, or clean up the contaminated ground.

Project associated with the work:

  • Restoration of Basic Strip of Runway, Prevention of soil Erosion, Extension of Apron and associated works at Shimla Airport on Design & Build basis.
  • Landslide treatment works at KM 19.3 & 19.8 on Joshimath- Malari Road in the 21BRTF area under project Shivalik in the state of Uttarakhand on EPC mode.
  • Ground improvement report for the construction adjacent to the existing two Railway lines between Vijayawada and Gudur stations for RVNL by using Geogrids, Geotextiles as well as Geocells.
  • Ground improvement for connecting line to Kandla Port in Western Railways by using TENAX LBO 370 for Improvement of Track Bed.

Micropiles

Micropiles, also known as mini piles, pin piles, needle piles, and root piles, is a deep foundation element constructed using high-strength, small-diameter steel casing and/or threaded bars. It can “stitch” the soil together within predicted shear zones to enhance mass stability. In liquefiable profiles, micro piles can transfer loads to competent bearing strata to follow seismic design requirements.
