RCC Retaining Wall

RCC Retaining Wall

An RCC retaining wall (Reinforced Cement Concrete retaining wall) is a structure designed to hold or retain soil behind it. It is commonly used in hilly areas, roadways, and landscaping projects to prevent soil erosion or to support vertical or near-vertical grade change.

Retaining walls are relatively rigid walls used for supporting soil laterally so that it can be retained at different levels on the two sides. Retaining walls are structures designed to restrain soil to a slope that it would not naturally keep to (typically a steep, near-vertical or vertical slope).

Retaining walls are utilized in the formation of basement under ground level, wing walls of bridge and to preserve slopes in hilly terrain roads. The retaining wall can be constructed with masonry as well as reinforced concrete or plain concrete.
